It’s much more than just baby weight

Ever wondered what ‘baby weight’ is made of?

First things first, your bodies are AMAZING! CELEBRATE THEM

Secondly, this is not a blog post about weight, it’s a blog about how much extra you can carry in pregnancy.

So here’s what you may be carrying when you are full term:

  • Blood Supply: 1.8kgs (3.9lbs)

  • Breast/Chest Tissue: 1.1kgs (2.4lbs)

  • Stored Fat for Feeding Baby : 3.6kgs (7.9lbs)

  • Amniotic Fluid: 900g (1.9lbs)

  • Baby: 3.4kgs (7.5lbs)

  • Uterus: 900g (1.9lbs)

  • Placenta: 700g (1.5lbs)
